The Secret To Being A Good Reader Is:  To READ!
  • Read to your child ;  it will benefit you both.
  • Set a good reading example by reading.
  • Keep plenty of reading matter available.
  • Encourage your child to read everyday!

MATH...Precision REALLY counts!

  • Write numbers Clearly
  • Align columns precisely
  • Copy numbers accurately

SPELLING-For children who find it easier to see a word than hear it, here are four suggestions;

  • Look at the length of a word.
  • Break the word into syllables.
  • Group words together that have similar spellings or that look alike.
     Words like weed, seed, deed, or receive, deceive, their.
  • For difficult words, try making a sentence for the word using each letter.
     "EMBARRASS":  "Emily's Mother Broke A Red Rocker As She Sews."
 

Each student is a unique person and a powerful learner capable of great achievements.
Reading to your child is important to their success in school as well as in life.
The featured author has many quality books that your child and you can enjoy together.

Eric Carle is a favorite children's author/illustrator. His pictures are hand painted paper, which he cuts in layers. His story times incorporate many important concepts for young children.

Changes, changes...the perfect story to read as children prepare to move up to the next grade, or as a classmate moves away. The importance of finding new experiences and making new friends, but not forsaking the old ones, is stressed.
